If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their famous "Who's on First?" might have turned out something like this.
Before reading this post, I suggest you watch their skit, "Who's on First?"
According to Wikipedia, Abbott and Costello were an American comedy duo that were most popular during the 1940s and 1950s, at the same time as World War II. They were in 36 films together, and also were involved in television and radio.
Now, here's a modernised version of their "Who's on First?" routine:
COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT —
ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinking about buying a computer. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou. ABBOTT: Your computer? COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou. ABBOTT: What about Windows? COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here? ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows? COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look at the windows? ABBOTT: Wallpaper. COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software. ABBOTT: Software for windows? COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write proposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have? ABBOTT: Office. COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything? ABBOTT: I just did. COSTELLO: You just did what? ABBOTT: Recommend something. COSTELLO: You recommended something? ABBOTT: Yes. COSTELLO: For my office? ABBOTT: Yes. COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office? ABBOTT: Office. COSTELLO: Yes, for my office! ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows. COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let's say I'm sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need? ABBOTT: Word. COSTELLO: What word? ABBOTT: Word in Office. COSTELLO: The only word in office is office. ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows. COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows? ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue "W". COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you don't start with some straight answers. What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: I need money to track my money? ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer. COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer? ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge. COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much? ABBOTT: One copy. COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money? ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a licence to copy Money. COSTELLO: They can give you a licence to copy money? ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT! (A few days later) ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off? ABBOTT: Click on "START"…………
Very clever Shane, I like this a lot!
For the record… I didn't come up with this (should've mentioned that?). Nicked it off a local club newsletter, and they most likely nicked it from somewhere else…
I cracked up laughing about a third of the way though and it just got better. Had to share it ;-)

This has been floating around the 'net for a long time. I always crack a smile when I read it. I'm old enough (barely) to remember Abbott and Costello while they were still with us. I'm not sure how well they hold up today, but some of their movies are damn funny!

Haven't seen any of their movies — nor heard about these guys until I saw this text re-write of their skit.
From reading Wikipedia, it seems that most of their movies were focused solely on finding a way to make them do their "Who's on First?" skit. Is that accurate?

Not really, they were one of the best for taking the old vaudeville & radio comic bits of a straight man (Abbot) and a funny man (Costello) and making it a classic. They had quite a few variations on this but the "Who's on First" has survived decades of change.
As a kid I used to love these guys as they'd crack me up and looking back the humor was pretty clean. Anyone that lived in the northeast here in the U.S. may remember the great Sunday morning lineup on WPIX channel 11 out of New York when they aired the "Three Stooges" followed by "The Bowery Boys" (also called the Dead End Kids) and then an Abbot & Costello movie. I think that lasted into the early 80s and then died out.
It's a shame no-one airs these anymore or in fact some other great shows. I listed 3 above that I would love to see regularly on the old tube and another that was hilarious that I would love to see make a comeback are the "Little Rascals". As a kid these were some of the few black white flicks I would ever watch
I think the only times they show older movies these days is overnight, at 2 AM and such times - so some of those may have been repeated, just not at the usual time you'd want to watch a movie ;-)
